HMV

His voice is my undoing
Leaves me powerless to fight
Like Samson with a haircut
Superman with Kryptonite

His tongue laps my defences
Overwhelms me and I kneel
I listen and surrender
This is my Achilles Heel

Southern Sage - it sounds irrestible to me...

Beau - thank you. It's not often I get the chance to use Kryptonite in a poem :)

So who is this dreamboat that has you swooning over your gramophone? C'mon, share!

It has just dawned on me that we are not referring to male music stars who charm our ears with their crooning... ah, well, I'll just slip on my earphones and carry on regardless.

I know a woman who can render me just as powerless with her voice.

It can be quite unsettling ...

Helga - poetry is always open to individual interpretation. The referral is entirely subjective.

Ro - it is unsettling when one is powerless, yes.
