Routine Maintenance

I don’t like your hypocrisy
And you can call it “loyalty”
But really it’s duplicity
And I have caught you out.

What you think is malevolence
Is my brand of irreverence
You insult my intelligence
The way you have sold out.

I don’t like how you patronise
Devaluing me with your lies
And I'm not one for big goodbyes
So I have thrown you out.

Whenever I read one of your bits I feel like going through all my boxes of books to hunt down Stevie Smith.

Sulpicia - I like the comparison. Thank you.

I think I am a lot like you Luka, I am always tempted to toss people out when they let me down. but i had to stop doing it and being more tolerant because making new friends all the time is exhausting. I think maybe i have mellowed with age.

Emma - yes, I can be very demanding. The older I get the more I find I have less and less time and energy to devote to people who don't appreciate the effort.

I recently fired someone from my life.

It felt great.

Anonymous Boxer - exactly. You need to cut away the dead wood to thrive.

Flowering Jasmine - of course, how much would you like?

A shed load....so i can tell someone to 'fuck off' and really mean it.

Jasmine - confidence comes from knowing you are right. Self belief. If someone has driven you to the point of wanting them to fuck off, you should have plenty of righteous anger to get you through. And whether your fuck off is to be delivered in person or in prose, there is much you can do to bolster your confidence levels.

your prose is delightful, even in anger. Inspiring, even!

Me - thank you, it is good to know I have my inspirational moments.
